B.C. Open Gold Panning Championships: May 19-21 2006

The Vernon Placer Miners’ Club is hosting the 15th Annual B.C. Gold Panning Championships and Family Fun Days in Cherryville, just 60 km east of Vernon at the Gold Panner Campground. Events will include: Gold Pan Toss, Pay Dirt Toss, “Gold Rush”, Claim Staking, Metal Detecting, and Bannock Baking. Events are open to all, and there will be a gold nugget prizes for all events. In addition to the gold panning events, there will also be an Antique Equipment display, Prospecting, Hiking, and a chance to wear your period Klondike costume.
Country Singer Colin Bunt will also be on site to entertain the crowds, and participants are encouraged to bring along their own instruments to join in.
